KCIC Adds 250,000 Whoosh Passengers During Lebaran Holidays 2025

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) delivered a total of 250,000 passengers during the Lebaran Transit 2025 period, which runs from March 21 to April 4, 2025.

GM Corporate Secretary KCIC Eva Chairunisa said that, in the period, the Whoosh fast trains experienced a 20 percent increase in passengers when compared to normal times.

“During the Lebaran holiday period, KCIC has served 250 thousand Whoosh passengers, with the average daily volume reaching 20-21 thousand passengers. This figure shows a significant increase compared to the usual day which ranges between 16-18 thousand passengers per day,” Eva said in Bandung on Friday.

Eva said that the peak of travel on the holiday Lebaran temporarily occurred on Thursday (3/4), where KCIC recorded the highest number of passengers, which was 22,340 passengers in a day.

He called the Halim-Padalarang route the favorite with a total of 86 thousand passengers, followed by the Padalarang-Halim route with 77 thousand passengers, and the Halim-Tegalalur Summarecon route with 35 thousand passengers.

“Passengers on departures in recent days have been dominated by passengers who took advantage of Whoosh to vacation both to Bandung, Jakarta, and Karawang. KCIC predicts that this figure will continue to increase until reaching 24 thousand passengers per day towards the end of the Lebaran holiday period,” Eva said.

Based on passenger ascent and fall data, Halim Station became the most crowded with a total of 234 thousand passengers. Padalarang Station recorded 170 thousand passengers, followed by Tegalalur Summarecon Station with 69 thousand passengers, and Karawang Station with 15 thousand passengers.

Eva appreciates the enthusiasm of the community in using Whoosh during this Lebaran holiday and continues to strive to provide the best service with easy access to booking tickets and flexibility of schedule changes.

“With the increasing number of passengers, we are appealing to the public to plan trips early to keep the travelling experience comfortable and smooth,” Eva said.
